The Buchanan's

First Generation - Ken Buchanan

Ken Buchanan originally was born in Rosebank and later moved South of Morden MB. His family then moved to Crystal City in the fall of 1941. Ken graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma in Agriculture. It was 1961 when Ken and his wife Eleanor Buchanan purchased the half section of land and continued farming.

Second Generation

Dean Buchanan

Dean Buchanan was raised on Thornbank Farms with his two siblings. He later attended and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in agriculture Economics in 1987. Dean than farmed with his father until recent years when Ken retired. He has been on Thornbank Farms since and now with his son Jayden. As well, Dean is actively involved in the surrounding communities from coaching to volunteering.

Third Generation

Jayden & Alyssa Buchanan

Jayden Buchanan with Alyssa Hamm has graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma in Agriculture and a BSc. in Agronomy respectivley and is full time on the farm raising their family!

Jenai Buchanan

Jenai has graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma, Degree (Agribusiness) and finalizing her Masters in Agribusiness and now works off farm.

Joryn Buchanan

Joryn has graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma and Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and currently works off farm in agronomy.
